Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where is my data stored?
A: TroveStack is a local-first application. All photos, links, and notes are stored strictly on your device. We do not maintain a central database of your content, and we never upload your library to our own servers.
Q: If I save a photo/screenshot to TroveStack and delete it from Apple Photos, will it still be in TroveStack?
A: Yes. TroveStack saves its own copy in your TroveStack library on your device. Deleting the original from Apple Photos won’t remove it from TroveStack.
Q: Will deleting an item in TroveStack delete it from Apple Photos or the original app?
A: No. TroveStack manages its own library. Deleting in TroveStack only removes it from TroveStack.
Q: How do I back up my TroveStack library?
A: TroveStack stores your library on your device. If you use iCloud Backup for your device, that backup may include TroveStack data. TroveStack does not currently sync your library across devices
Q: Do you offer an “extra backup” or sync feature?
A: Not yet. TroveStack is local-first today. We’re exploring optional backup/sync features for a future version.
